Current Governor: Peter Obi
The original Anambra state was
created in 1976 when East Central State was divided into
Imo and Anambra states. But the current Anambra
state was carved out of the previous larger Anambra
state on 27th August, 1991. The
state is located in the south-eastern part of
Nigeria and share boundaries with Kogi state to the
north, Enugu State to the east, Delta State to the
west and Imo State to the south
