president is also the commander-in-chief
of the armed forces of the federal
republic of Nigeria. He and the vice
president were elected April 21, 2007 (by popular vote)
and sworn into office on May 29, 2007.
He is a member of the People's
Democratic Party (PDP) and he succeeded
President Olusegun Obasanjo. |
