I want to use this medium to commend the initiative of the
UBA/Organizers of the TV show – the Dragonsden. No doubt,
this program ( AIT: Sundays; 9:30pm), which is aimed at
affording Nigerian Entrepreneurs with possible business
plans the opportunity to showcase their talent/idea and be
their own boss while soliciting for financial support from
the Dragons, is a step in the right direction.
However, I would like to suggest/give advice which in my
opinion, is worth looking into. It may appear as if the
“current” Team of Dragons/captains of industry, shy away
from or turn down business proposals from some of these
Entrepreneurs who have come on air, as a result of them
(Dragons) not being conversant/comfortable with such
business proposals, or their lack of interest
in such business especially when it does not appeal to the
Dragons as being viable enough. On the other hand the
Entrepreneurs should be more businesslike both in their way
of presentation as well as doing their homework/research
well as regards the business being proposed.
To this end, I advice that two separate Teams/Panel of
Dragons be drawn. The current Dragons could be dubbed team
“A” and another team “B”. The latter Team of “gurus”
which will be selected from other areas of our social life,
such as Education, Sports, Energy sector (Oil & Gas),
Tourism, etc., will give equal opportunity to some other
aspiring Entrepreneurs. Both Dragons (A & B) could feature
interchangeably and to consider different business
proposals.
Again, this is not taking anything away from the original
Dragons going by the array of business moguls that sit
therein. They have done and are still doing marvelously
well. I think they should be commended for putting their
hard earned money/resources, time on line. The three tiers
of government should brace up to this laudable course. Ahh!,
At last Nigeria is on the march again. More grease to their
elbows.
Lastly, some form of protection should also be given to the
works of these gallant Entrepreneurs so that the viewers of
this program do not take the advantage of robbing the guests
of their business idea/intellectual properties.
Once again, I commend their giant stride. |
